*Two PhD studentships and/or Research Assistants on Aspect-Oriented and
Model-Driven Development at Universidade Nova de Lisboa *



The successful applicants will undertake either a PhD research position or a
research assistant position within the context of AMPLE, a research project
funded by the EC Framework 6 on Aspect-Oriented, Model-Driven and Software
Product Line Engineering. The focus of the project is on combining
aspect-oriented and model-driven techniques to address variability at each
stage in a software product line engineering lifecycle and bind the
variation points in various development stages and dimensions into a
coherent variability framework across the life cycle. The UNL team main
responsibility is centered in the workpackages that address requirements
engineering, software architecture and traceability.

The appointment will be on a fixed term contract for 12 months, renewed for
equivalent periods for the following two years. The post is available from 1
October 2006, or a later date by negotiation.

*Salary *: 1.200 Euros/month; this amount is negotiable, depending on the
knowledge and experience of the candidates.

The selected applicants will be working in collaboration with the AOSD
research group ( http://ctp.di.fct.unl.pt/AOSD-Group/index.html) at the
Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Computer Science Department. The AOSD research
group is very active in the international arena and has developed pioneering
work on Early Aspects, hosting several international projects and scientific
events.



The Computer Science Department was responsible for the creation of the
first computer science degree in Portugal , in 1975, and since then it is
one of the leading research and teaching departments in the field. It hosts
two research centers, CITI and CITIA. The AMPLE project will be developed
within the CITI ( http://citi.di.fct.unl.pt/index.php) headquarters.

- Full time dedication
- MSs or BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information
Systems.
- Availability to travel (inside or outside EU) to meetings, workshops and
conferences


*CANDIDATE DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS*
- Experience in Aspect-Oriented Software Development

- Knowledge on Model-Driven Software Development

- Knowledge on Software Product Lines
- High level communication skills and confidence
- Good level of written and spoken English
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team
