[apologies for multiple reception]

The Chilean government has opened a call for post-doctorate projects
of a duration of 2 years in a Chilean university. The Computer
Science Department (DCC) of the University of Chile is the leading
research lab in the field in this country.

We are willing to assist in the preparation of applications for
candidates interested in the following areas:
- aspect-oriented programming: aspect interactions and composition,
aspect language design, domain-specific aspect languages.
- computational reflection: innovative models of computational
reflection, for both object-oriented and aspect-oriented languages.
- extensible languages: modular definition, programming environments,
composition.
- programming languages and environments for pervasive computing and
ambient intelligence.

The above list is not exhaustive, but gives an idea of expected
research topics.

If granted, the funding consists of a grant of approx 890,000 CLP
(1,650 USD) per month, plus up to 2,000,000 CLP (3,700 USD) per year
for travelling and/or hardware expenses. The above amount represents
a considerably attractive salary wrt cost of living in Chile
(basically that of an engineer with around 3 years of experience in
industry).

Deadline for applications is July 11th, 2006.
The call is interdisciplinary, so high contention has to be expected.
The Chilean government science agency is usually looking closely at
applicant's curricula (read, papers), relevance of the proposal and
good matching with the "sponsoring" researcher (read, myself).

If accepted, the postdoc is expected to start activites between
January 2nd and April 1st, 2007.

Applicants must have a PhD delivered *after* July 1st, 2003.

If interested, reply to this email to initiate discussion on possible
project topics and how to apply.

Best regards,
