This workshop will be held in conjunction with ICSE'2007. It aims to provide
a forum for researchers to discuss the state of the art of software
engineering practices and research challenges in designing and building
pervasive computing systems and applications. The goal of this workshop is to provide a forum for
researchers to share their experience and vision towards developing a
common view of the best engineering practices in regard to design techniques,
programming models, and distributed system architectures for pervasive
computing applications.

This workshop invites original research contributions, experience reports, and
early results in the following topics, but not limited to:

* Programming paradigms and models for pervasive computing applications
* Programming environments
* Middleware architectures for pervasive computing
* Service-oriented architectures for pervasive computing
* Component based programming frameworks
* Generative programming techniques
* Agent-based designs
* Policy-based design methods
* Context models, and sensor data/event aggregation models and techniques
* Context-based security and privacy in pervasive computing environments
* Dynamic adaptation mechanisms, resource staging, resource migration,
          replication, caching
* Access control models for pervasive computing environments
* Security and privacy
* Resource discovery mechanisms, models, architectures, and protocols
* Fault-tolerance in pervasive computing systems and applications
* Exception handling models and techniques for context-aware applications
* Context-aware collaboration environments
* Application of model checking and design verification techniques
* Deployment and management of large scale pervasive computing applications
* Software and middleware for cyber-physical computing
