Early Aspects is a term used to denote crosscutting concerns that need to be
addressed during requirements engineering and architecture design. The Early
Aspects community has argued that crosscutting concerns first manifest
themselves in requirements and this is where developers must start to
identify and address them using aspect-oriented techniques to avoid costly
refactorings and maintenance later on in the lifecycle. This begs the
question as to what is the relationship between Early Aspects and their
"Late" counter parts? Are the solution domain aspects simply refinements of
requirements-level aspects? In other words, do crosscutting concerns arise
due to the concern dependencies and interactions inherent to a problem or
are there additional ones that may arise due to our chosen solutions? This
panel is aimed at debating these questions. Our panellists will take
specific positions on the topic and we also hope that the audience will
participate in the lively discussion. Join us at 4 PM on Tuesday 13 March
in Room Pavillion A where the 10th Workshop on Early Aspects will be held.
