* Camera-ready: Aug 6th, 2007
* Conference: Nov 8-9th, 2007

CONTEXT

The International Conference of the Chilean Computer Science Society
(SCCC) is one of the oldest and most important computer science
conferences in Latin America, and has one of the highest-quality
technical levels in the region. It is an international forum for
presenting recent results in computer science research, and is
published by IEEE CS Press.

The official language of the conference is English.

This year, the conference will be held in Iquique, a beautiful city
located in the north of Chile, and will be hosted by the Universidad
Arturo Prat. Iquique region contains some of the north's most
impressive historic architecture, dating from the 19th-century
nitrate boom. Excellent hotels and beaches make Iquique a preferred
departure point for trips to the desert nitrate offices and the
Altiplano (Andean plateau).

TOPICS

This year, the conference is organized in two tracks:

*** Distributed and Concurrent Systems
- actors and agent-based systems
- concurrent/distributed programming models, patterns, and systems
- adaptability and context-awareness in distributed systems
- ambient intelligence and pervasive computing
- autonomic computing
- grid computing, the web and the internet
- scientific and high performance computing
- service discovery and composition

*** Software Engineering
- empirical software engineering
- software requirements engineering
- software architecture and design
- reuse and components, patterns and frameworks
- software testing and analysis
- software dependability, safety and reliability
- reverse engineering and maintenance
- software economics and metrics
- agile software development
- aspect-oriented software development
- software modularity and evolution

*** Contributions related to both areas are particularly welcome;
some possible topics are:
- software engineering for distributed/parallel systems
- software engineering for embedded and real-time systems
- software engineering for mobile, ubiquitous and pervasive systems

PAPER SUBMISSION

We solicite submissions of technical papers presenting original
research on practical and theoretical aspects related to one or both
of the tracks above. Papers are must be 10-pages long maximum. As in
previous years, the conference proceedings will be published by IEEE
CS Press. Therefore, papers must adhere to the IEEE Proceedings format:
http://www.ieee.org/portal/pages/pubs/proceedings/authinfo.html

All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed by members of the program
committee. Submitted papers will be judged on the basis of
significance, relevance, correctness, originality, and clarity.
Submitted papers must be unpublished and not submitted for
publication elsewhere.
