Hi Fabiano,

You might be interested in looking at Glassbox, an open source project that
monitors and diagnoses applications with AspectJ based on general patterns
and use of common components, as well as being extensible. You can get our
software at www.glassbox.com

You can also read a description of the approach in the articles I wrote on
IBM Developerworks at
http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/java/library/j-aopwork10/ and
http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/java/library/j-aopwork12/

We'd be interested in your feedback on the project.

Subject: [aosd-discuss] Tracing blackbox application with AspectJ

Hi all,

I'm a student and currently I'm doing a research on monitoring
techniques. So I've discovered AspectJ. In AspectJ I can tracing a
program without knowing the source code and than manually filtering the
result for well know how the components of target program communicates.
This approach is simple but not very useful by all (it's necessary to
know well aspectJ language, tracing and filtering big application isn't
always possible..etc..). So I'm looking for a paper(s) (also some ideas)
on various approaches in aspectJ that implement a monitoring for
application black box. Can anyone help me please?

best regards
