[aosd-discuss] Donate your .... code! :)

Hi,

I can imagine managing emerging aspects during development of the software architecture and subsequent code design.

However, I think that applying aspects to an existing system may prove more problematic. Results may vary according to the complexity of the donated code. Also, it may be very difficult to apply new aspects that have not previously been designed into the software.

Perhaps what you are suggesting is a risk reduction exercise where early design decisions have not previously identified all aspects?

Kind regards

Charles

I am looking to apply them in a judicious manner. This is a new system
in active development, so I am looking for opportunities as I see them.
I am considering experimenting with it on Undo/Redo functionality. This
seems like a good fit. When security is added, this will also be a
potential area.

The main problem with applying it is the lack of knowledge amongst
developers. It is somewhat enigmatic to many programmers due to lack of
exposure. The team I am a part of now has some very experienced
developers on it, making these things all the more prevalent.

I hope I've been helpful.
