There are two choices for the restaurant on Sunday night.

1. Bierhaus Machold (30 min. walk from the student hotel). An old-established restaurant in the old town, a former brewery: http://www.bierhaus-machold.com
The Machold is more expensive (9-17 €), but also the nicer place.
2. China Hongkong (1.2 km from the student hotel). http://www.hongkong-bonn.de/en_texte/home.html

Please mark your choice, we are unsure based on people's budget/preference which would be the best choice.

If you know of any hot spots or have any ideas, please feel free to add them below:

Perhaps a crawl in some of the "quarters" mentioned here. And i quote "A typical Cologne pub is the Em Höttche, where you can order a meter-long row of kölsch beer." Sounds good!

Bonn has a wide variety of restaurants, bars, pubs and cafés to offer its visitors. Those who would prefer to stay in just one of the city's districts will be best served in either the city centre or the student quarter of Poppelsdorf. But good food is found not only in these districts, there are also many opportunities to eat out in Bad Godesberg, Südstadt and the Old Town.

CITY CENTRE

The city centre is the culinary centre of Bonn, and there are so many places to have a meal or drink here that it is extremely hard to choose between them. The Salvator is a typically Bavarian pub in the middle of the Rhineland. A typical Cologne pub is the Em Höttche, where you can order a meter-long row of kölsch beer. Younger people like to go to Bellini, a scene café-bar, where mainly Italian specialities are served. Around the corner is the Cafe Blau, Bonn's student pub, well known for its cheap breakfast and good coffee. For rock music fans, the Zebulon is just twenty metres away, where you can enjoy a tasty sandwich. The Milchpavillon is also well known if you crave something sweet.

POPPELSDORF

If you come to Poppelsdorf, you'll find yourself in Bonn's student quarter. The cocktail bar Extra Dry is worth a visit, as there are over fifty different cocktails on offer here, as well as sandwiches and good coffee. Turkish specialities are served in a nice atmosphere at Efes Restaurant. The Cafe Anders is always a good choice - it's a mixture of a restaurant, café and bar.

BAD GODESBERG

Bad Godesberg is one of Bonn's largest districts. The House of Steaks is particularly well known for its large choice of Argentinean specialities. If you prefer Greek food, then the Dionysos restaurant in the Plittersdorf area is a good place to go. Situated only twenty metres away from the Rhine, a large beer garden and exquisite menu invite guests to have a feast. All those who prefer Italian cuisine only have to go one building further, to the Trattoria Pizzeria Italia.

Beuel

Many pubs and cafes can be found right by the Rhine in Beuel. One of these is the Rheinlust, well known for its good and inexpensive brunches. The Beueler Bahnhöfchen is not far from here, with its large beer garden in the summer and a weekly changing menu. Beuel's best Italian restaurant is right on the corner of the Konrad-Adenauer Platz, namely the Portofino. The food here is not cheap, but is excellent.

SÜDSTADT

Bonn's Südstadt area is located right next to the city centre and is a popular meeting place for students. The Treppchen, for example, is a pub in the art nouveau style. If you fancy a good brunch, go to Wespennest.

ALTSTADT (Old Town)

As well as its many museums, the Old Town has much to offer in the way of food and drink. The Elsässer Weinstuben is as cosy wine bar with a rustic atmosphere. In the Anno Tubac, the themes of art and food are brought together.
